Investment Banking Systems
The major banks often use trading and settlement systems they have developed themselves to meet their particular business needs. We have put together a list below of the main products supplied by vendors which are in common use. We would very much like to hear from you if you have experience with any of these vendor systems.
Calypso Used for Capital Market products. Calypso facilitates trading, P&L, Position Management and Straight Through Processing of Foreign Exchange, Fixed Income, Equities, Money Market and Credit products including their derivatives
Fidessa Used mainly in the Front Office for Equities. Fidessa is a large system that can also accept orders from Banks’ clients enabling equities to be traded by other parties connected to the Bank. This would typically be done using market order tools such as ECN and ATS.
GL Stream Used for Equities and Derivative trading. GL Stream is used for order capture and position management. The application is commonly used to facilitate orders from clients and route orders to Brokers, Market Makers and Program Trading Systems to enable liquidity for clients.
OpenLink Typically used for Risk Management of Energy, Foreign Exchange and Commodity trading. OpenLink provides a full Front-To-Bank Risk Management solution for Banks, from deal capture straight through to settlement and accounting.
Reuters Kondor+ A very popular and widely used system in the Investment Banking industry worldwide. Reuters Kondor+ allows professional investors to price, capture and manage trading activity across numerous asset classes.
SAP An industry favourite used for accounting. SAP has been around for a long time and enables Investment Banks (and many other types of business) to meet strict accounting compliance rules enforced by government agencies.
Sophis Risque Used for Risk Management of listed and exotic derivatives across a number of asset classes including Credit, Fixed Income, Equity and Foreign Exchange derivatives.
